My Sunday Currently | November 27, 2016

It’s currently 2:44 in the morning, and here I am forcing myself to stay awake so that I can be productive. Zombie mode ON. Haha joke, I promise to sleep immediately after this blog post. So a little life update: I have three weeks of school left and it has been CRAAAZYY. I had two exams last week and this week is all about design submissions. Then after that it’s gonna be exams again, then plates, then exam, then lantern parade, waaah! And that explains why I haven’t been blogging/vlogging much lately. Bawi ako sa sembreak, pramis! hihi

READING Behind the Blog by Kryz Uy. This book made me love Kryz even more. ❤

WRITING all my deadlines so that I can be more organized and also writing down a possible schedule for next semester. Di pa nga tapos 1st sem, 2nd sem na agad iniisip??

LISTENING to the silence of the night.

THINKING of what’s going to happen tomorrow.. Let’s see, I need to get my plates, I have a field work at 1PM, I’m not sure if I have a quiz, and I need to start on our sketch model. *feels overwhelmed and even more stressed*

SMELLING nothing.

WISHING that I’ll have the courage and drive to do well in my last few weeks in school!

HOPING to get good profs for next sem!!!

WEARING a blue Paul Frank shirt, tie-dye pajamas, and some pink cat ears.

LOVING Vray for Sketchup!! Lol it seems like design is really life, and I’m so happy I learned about Vray because it makes your perspectives look super realistic!

WANTING to rest and have a good night’s sleep.

NEEDING to find a not so expensive hotel around the Metro! My best friends and I want to have a sleepover/staycation during Christmas break so that we can catch up since the last time I saw them was September/October?? Any suggestions on nice hotels? 🙂

FEELING stressed but blessed. And my back hurts too HAHA.

And here’s a little quote of the day to get us all inspired: Life has a funny way of working out just when you think it never will.

I hope you have a great week ahead!

July Favorites 2016

Hi everyone! It is now time for another round of favorites. But for the month of July, I did something a little bit different compared to the usual favorites blog posts I do. I challenged myself to make a video instead of just typing everything. I really enjoyed filming and editing this so please watch! Thank you so much!

My Summer Bucketlist 2016

I am one final project away from my “summer!” WOOHOO! I put quotation marks because technically, summer season is almost over in the Philippines, which was April to May. But since the academic calendar shift, my vacation is now from June to July. I thought it would be nice to share with you some of the things I want to accomplish in this two-month break, and I want to see if I actually get these tasks done before my summer is over. So here we go!

(1) Work out. I feel like I say I’m going to do this every summer but it never actually happens HAHAHA. I really hope I can do this FOR REAL this time. But I’m not sure if I can do the healthy diet part LOL.

(2) Learn to drive. I hope I can turn this thing into a reality! Although to be honest, I’m kinda scared of driving in the Philippines. Plus my height is not exactly an advantage for this task LOL. But hey, if I do accomplish this, then I’d be one heck of a great driver. Because like my dad always says, “If you can drive in the Philippines, then you’re officially an expert driver.” haha!

(3) Finish my PS3 games. I absolutely love playing video games! But the thing is, I can’t play them during the school year because I would totally end up forgetting to do all my plates and assignments. But now that I have all the time in my hands, I really want to play more and finish all my unfinished games like Tomb Raider Underworld, The Walking Dead 2, and Barbie Puppy Rescue Adventure. YUP. BARBIE. I also want to start playing Life is Strange on the PS4 because I think it’s such a good game!

(4) Play Sims 4 more often. Like I said earlier, I want to play more of my video games! I literally did not play any Sims during the school year because trust me, it can be sooo time-consuming. But now I am so excited to get back at it!!! And maybe even buy some new expansion, game, and stuff packs. I guess finishing video games is my way of being “productive.” hahaha!

(5) Watch more movies. I love having movie nights especially during the summer, because I feel like each film will teach you something different every time and you get to expand your knowledge and wisdom. First on my list are Notting Hill and The Matrix Trilogy! Any more movie suggestions? 🙂

(6) Finish a book. It has been so long since I have finished a book, and to think that before college, I could read really thick books (the thickest I’ve read so far was City of Heavenly Fire), and now I can’t even do that anymore! Well, first on my list of books is Girl Online on Tour, which I have started to read like one or two months ago, and I just never had the chance to continue reading it. But after I’m done with that, do you have any great book suggestions for me? 🙂

(7) Buy a new phone. I have been saving all the money I got from my birthday last January to buy a new phone, and I am really eyeing the new iPhone SE. I hope I could get my hands on it real soon! huhu

(8) Blog more. This is pretty self-explanatory. lol.

(9) Vlog. I have always wanted to try vlogging or making YouTube videos, but I never really had the courage to speak in front of the camera. Hopefully, I can try to do it this summer so that I can conquer my fear and also, it would be something I can tick off my lifetime bucketlist.

(10) Go out of town with my best friends. My best friends and I have been wanting to go on a trip for about a year now, and we could never really find the right time to have one. But fingers crossed, this summer will finally be the moment where we get to go to Baler huhuhu. I also haven’t seen them in four months, and I just really miss them so much. 😦

(11) Spend more time with family and catch up with friends. It’s not everyday that you get to be on a two-month vacation, so I want to make as much memories as I can with my loved ones!

(12) HAVE FUN!

What’s on your summer bucketlist? 🙂

What I Learned from Love

Heart Evangelista, a well-known actress here in the Philippines, recently released her own book entitled “This is Me, Love Marie.” The book is mainly about makeup and skincare secrets that Heart uses to achieve her super healthy and glowing skin! I finally got my own copy last week and I absolutely fell in love with it!

Being the girly girl that I am, I was so happy to learn more on how to use makeup properly and how to take good care of my skin. This book was very informative and it really helped that the book contained a lot of visuals, and not just words. It also reminded me of Michelle Phan’s book, but the difference between them is that this one is much shorter and concise.

Anyway, if you want to learn more about makeup, skincare, beauty, lifestyle, and all that jazz, I definitely recommend that you check out this book! Its selling price is P295, and I think it can be bought at all book stores nationwide.

Out of all the tips that Heart mentioned in her book, I listed ten of them down below just to give you an idea of what you would find if ever you decide to grab your own copy. So, these are the things that I learned from Love.. Love Marie. 😉

  1. Try to sleep straight so you won’t squish your face and cause wrinkles in the long run. (This is a skincare secret that people rarely mention! I’m starting to think that the reason I get more pimples on the sides of my face is because I always sleep on my side, with pillows covering both of my ears. I guess I need to start sleeping straight now! haha!)
  2. Know your face shape. It’s the key to perfecting your makeup look! (The way you do your eyebrows, contour, and blush all depends on your face shape!)

3. Spend on skincare, save on makeup. Because if your skin is already nice, then you don’t really need much. (I love this tip! It makes so much sense. I think it’s a common misconception that we need to put on a lot of makeup to cover our imperfections. But the truth is, what we should really focus on is taking care of our skin, rather than learning how to hide our real skin through makeup.)

4. Layer products in this order: cleanser -> toner -> serum -> eye cream -> moisturizer -> sunblock

5. In relation to no. 4: Let each layer of product set on your skin before moving on to the next item. In between applications, let at least three minutes pass.

6. Make sure the girl wears the dress, not the other way around. (I also love this tip! No matter how fancy or how nice your outfit is, if you don’t know how to carry it well, then it’s no use. To dress up must also mean to be confident in the clothes you’re wearing and to carry it well. Always remember that!)

7. Better to be the one who smiled than the one who didn’t smile back. -Grace Kelly (YES, ABSOLUTELY.)

8. If you look at some supermodels, their features aren’t perfect, but they’re beautiful because they’re oozing with sex appeal and confidence. That’s what makes you truly beautiful. (Confidence is what makes you truly attractive! So true!)

9. It’s who you are and who you end up becoming that makes you truly beautiful. (Although outer beauty matters to a certain extent, it will never be as important as the beauty inside.)

10. Always be true to yourself and never wear a mask! Be happy with what you see in the mirror and the rest will follow. (Learning to love your physical features will lead to confidence, and that will soon lead to becoming truly beautiful.)

December Favorites 2015

Wow, the last round of favorites for the year 2015.. what to feel…

(1) Fake Lashes.  Grabe, they make such a difference! Before, I was really scared of fake lashes because one, they’re hard to put on and two, I feel like they’re too dramatic sometimes. But when I got to put on some good quality falsies during my predebut shoot, I fell in love! I reused them for a debut I attended and they instantly made my makeup look super fabulous!!! Can you recommend some brands of falsies that are really nice and worth it?

(2) This is Me, Love Marie. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK! I mentioned that I wanted to get this in my All I Want for Christmas 2015 post. Then I finally found a physical copy of it at Fully Booked Trinoma, so I bought it right away. This is Me, Love Marie is sort of like a shorter version of Michelle Phan’s book. I’m not complaining though! I learned a lot of new things from it, mostly about makeup and skincare, since that is what it was all about. That’s why I’m deciding to make a separate blog post about this book by Heart Evangelista. Super recommend!!!

(3) The Little Prince. I remember learning about this in high school, but I already forgot about the story. So my mom decided to buy me the book so that I’ll be able to refresh my memory. So far, so good! I usually read this before I go to sleep. It’s like I’m reading myself a bedtime story. hahaha. I really love how The Little Prince teaches us to always be child-like and not be too much of an “adult.”

(4) My Debut Invites. Such a weird thing to add to my favorites, but I’m gonna put it anyway! My debut invites finally came and they are so pretty!!! It’s more than anything I could have ever imagined. Nikki Santos, the lovely lady who made them, did a fantastic job of making the invites very “me,” which is what you would expect from a debut invitation. hahaha. Oh my gosh!!! My debut is only two weeks away and I don’t know how to feel… *screams internally*

(5) Tomb Raider. Since I am on semestral break, I finally have a lot of free time. So I decided to play Tomb Raider on our PS3 again! I actually started playing this a year ago, but I never got to finish it because our PS3 got broken huhu. But I finally finished it this time!!! The video quality of this game is perfection! Plus, I really really love Lara Croft. ❤

(6) Snapchat. I started using my Snapchat again! Add me: thatsmoira. I forgot how fun this was and actually, my baby cousin Julianna also likes this app. She is amazed by the different effects Snapchat can do!

(7) Celebrity Interviews. So I got bored at home (what’s new), and I decided to go on YouTube because it’s the ultimate site to be when you have nothing else to do. However, I got tired of watching Christmas videos by the YouTubers I’m subscribed to, so I decided to just see what was on my “Recommended.” And that’s how I started watching celebrity interviews. I think I’ve watched almost all the Fast Talk interviews by Boy Abunda. But my favorite out of all the celebrity interviews I’ve watched would probably be the videos where Alex Gonzaga is in it. She is so witty and entertaining! She never runs out of things to say, and I love how she really gets into the interview when she is asked for love advice. Try watching her when you’re bored and you just want a good laugh! haha!

(8) The Half Sisters. I think I only started watching this a month ago. Super late, I know. But can I just say that the cast of this show delivers really well!!! I love how the story is so twisted right now because it makes me want to watch what will happen next. Plus, Barbie Forteza is a really great actress! Personally, I think she is the best teen actress on Philippine television today. I can feel how passionate she is about acting, and hindi siya pabebe umarte!!! If the scene asks her to ugly cry, then she will ugly cry. I can definitely see a lot of potential from her, and I hope she will grow to be a really famous and successful actress in the near future. (BTW, I just learned that The Half Sisters is already on its last 3 weeks. Noooo!!! :()

(9) FRIENDS. I love this show!!! I’ve actually finished all 10 seasons of it, but I decided to watch some episodes again while I was doing my plates at 2 in the morning. I honestly think that everyone should be able to watch Friends because it is such a feel good sitcom and its cast members have a really great chemistry! If you haven’t watched this yet, I definitely recommend that you do!

(10) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Again, because of boredom, I watched some random videos on YouTube, and I came upon Jimmy Fallon. I watched all his Catchphrase videos because they were so entertaining for some reason, and my cousin actually really likes this show too!

(11) Just Go with It. I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen this movie. Just Go with It is super funny!! My cousins and I have already formed a number of inside jokes from this movie (just like “ship shipper” and “woof kick woof kick” HAHAH). I actually love Adam Sandler for I think he is an effortless comedian, and the way he delivers his lines is enough to make me laugh. Other movies of Adam Sandler that I love are Grown Ups and Blended.

(12) James Reid. I can’t believe I haven’t talked about this on my blog yet!!! It was December 12 and it was just another ordinary day. Then my mom called to tell me that On the Wings of Love was shooting at our parish (which was really close to our house). So my cousins and I decided to go there because we were hoping to catch a glimpse of James Reid. We waited outside the church for about three hours just to see him. AND WE ACTUALLY DID SEE HIM. We were sooo close to James Reid, probably only two meters apart. But I was too scared to ask for a picture with him because he was talking to the show’s director, and I honestly think that we weren’t even allowed to be where we where at that time. HAHA. Nevertheless, it was definitely a day I will never forget. ❤ Oh, and I also got to see Nadine Lustre, Bailey (idk his last name), and Ylona Garcia.
