September Favorites 2016!

Hello everyone and Happy October! I have finally woken up now that September has ended! HAHA Get it?? Anyway, I finally got to upload a new video this week! I have mostly been MIA on social media because of all the deadlines, as in there’s always a test per day. I guess this is really what it means to be in third year college huhu. Ugh, enough with the rant, Moira.

Please watch my newest video and don’t forget to subscribe! Thank you so much!

August Favorites 2016

(1) Happy Skin x Love Marie Lippies. I am a big fan of Heart Evangelista’s makeup book (which I even raved about here), so when I saw that she released her own line of lippies in partnership with Happy Skin, a trustworthy and promising local makeup brand, I immediately knew that I wanted to get them! I was so happy to also learn that they were matte, and they even came in white containers, which definitely screamed Love Marie! These lippies have really great quality and I definitely recommend it to all the Filipina beauty junkies out there!

I even used the Happy Skin x Love Marie lippies in my latest video! #shamelessplug HAHA

(2) McDonald’s BBQ flavored Shake Shake Fries. OHMYGOD I was overjoyed when I saw on TV that McDo has brought back their Shake Shake Fries!!! I kid you not, I have probably been eating them once or twice a week ever since they came out because they’re just sooo good. Hay, unhealthy living huhu.

(3) Sabrina. I have planned to watch this movie for the longest time but I was just never in the mood to watch a full length black and white film lately. What did trigger (LOL trigger) me to finally see it is when Gabi DeMartino talked about it in one of her vlogs, saying that it’s one of her favorite movies because it taught her to “see life through rose-colored glasses.” It made me interested to watch Sabrina and ohmygod Audrey Hepburn is just gorgeous! The film also inspired me to see the bright side of life and that if Sabrina can go from being depressed to being confident, then I definitely can too! haha!

(4) Girl Meets the Real World. OHMYGOD this show gives me the freaking feels every freaking time!!! Personally, this was probably their best episode yet, lesson-wise and acting-wise (esp from Rowan!). It basically talked about a debate if people are naturally good or naturally evil. And ironically, Riley being the positive one in the show, had to prove that people are naturally evil. So she did a lot of thinking and realizing and what not, and her answer during the debate BLEW MY MIND. I did not expect an answer like that, esp coming from a Disney show lol, but anyway, this episode really made me realize that life is all about perspective. Who knows if people are actually good or evil? But at the end of the day, it’s what you choose to see and believe in this world that will dictate how you live your life.

(5) Pretty Little Liars The DArkest Knight. PLL has this thing wherein they give you “okay” episodes and then when it’s the finale, they’re gonna go ALL OUT. And that’s exactly what happened with their latest episode, which probably had the grossest and most morbid scene ever. (As in grabe talaga!!!) And now I have to wait until April 2017 for Season 7B??? Huhu asan hustisya 😦 Plus, it’s gonna be their last 10 episodes next year. Ugh, I can’t believe I’m gonna say goodbye to my fave TV show soon. 😦

(6) Encantadia. During the first episodes of Encantadia, I was a little bit iffy about this remake since you basically already know what’s gonna happen since it is a remake. But now, they’re finally exploring the sequel parts of the series and I am so engaged!! I find their Enchanta language so cool and unique and I am finally starting to understand every character and event in the series and I love how this fantaserye has parallels in real life. Also, can I just say that Kylie Padilla looks so freaking good in her warrior suit (super toned body tho!) and Mikee Quintos, who plays the role of Mila/Lira, is so adorable!

(7) Mars: Friendly vs. Flirty. I randomly watched this video on YouTube since it had an interesting title and it left me laughing real hard! Until now, I still can’t get over how Ogie Alcasid kept saying “I love you” throughout the first part of the video. LOL.

(8) Closer ft. Halsey by the Chainsmokers. I just love how catchy this song is and every time I hear it, it makes me wanna either get up and dance, or just nod along and chill. HAHAHA.

(9) Pokemon GO. I was never really a fan of Pokemon when I was younger, but this app really made me curious so I went with the bandwagon. I really enjoyed it at first since it was fun seeing random Pokemons roaming around random places in the Philippines. But now, I really don’t get to play it that much anymore since I don’t always have wifi on my phone. sadlyf haha

The Beautiful Imperfection Tag

Hi everyone! I was chosen by fellow blogger, riyasharmaviews, to do the Beautiful Imperfection Tag, wherein the goal is to basically define what it means to be beautiful, to write about what I find beautiful and not beautiful (aka imperfections) about myself. I honestly got excited when I saw that I was tagged because the topic of beauty is something that is close to my heart. Being a woman, a teenager, a girly girl, and a fashion/beauty blogger (naks), I can’t help but spend some time thinking and wondering about what it really means to be beautiful.

First of all, I would like to put it out there that there is no single correct definition of beauty. Beauty is something that is subjective, and I don’t intend to put an objective definition to it. I believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and each of us sees it from different unique perspectives. So what I am going to write is MY own take on what it means to be beautiful, as viewed from my eyes and my beliefs.

As much as I hate to say this, or maybe you don’t want to hear this, I still believe in the concept of outer or physical beauty. Growing up in the Philippines, which is a country that for some reason just loooves showbusiness, I would watch TV and be wowed by the looks of celebrities such as Liza Soberano, Anne Curtis, Marian Rivera, and a LOT more.

I mean just look at her! How can you not find Liza beautiful?? If this is your first time seeing a picture of Liza, do you find her pretty? Of course you do! And doesn’t that make you want to get to know her even more, to be her friend? People like her who were blessed to be drop dead gorgeous have this sort of advantage in making good first impressions. Even when we don’t acknowledge it, the first thing we really notice about a person is their outer beauty, and if she is good-looking, then most likely, we would draw our attention to her. (P.S. Just to clear things up, I am not hating on Liza Soberano. In fact, I find her one of the most beautiful celebrities, not only for her looks, but also because she is super kind and has a good heart. ❤ I love her so much :(( )

Yup Smackle, you got that right. This is indeed a world where pretty seems better somehow, which is unfortunate, but you can’t deny it.

HOWEVER, even if I believe in physical beauty, I NEVER stop there. It is so easy to get caught up on what we look like, that sometimes, we forget that what really matters is who we are on the inside. Yes, outer beauty matters, but inner beauty matters MORE. Besides, what good is a pretty face when you have an ugly heart? But when you have an amazing personality, it will shine out of your face like sun beams and you will always look lovely to the right people. *wink*

For me, inner beauty is defined by three things: kindness, confidence, and humility. I find that kind people have this glow to them and everyone is happy to be their friend. They possess hearts that are just so genuine and pure that it shows in the way they talk and smile, and I would always find that beautiful. Confidence is another thing that makes someone attractive. If you take a close look at celebrities or models, you will find that they don’t have perfect faces or body shapes. But you still notice them because they carry themselves really well. Lastly, we have humility. No, humility is not the opposite of confidence. A person who is humble but not confident is simply shy or still lacking self-belief, while a person who is confident but not humble is simply boastful. But a person who is confident AND humble is simply beautiful. ❤

But do you want to know what the number one secret on what it means to be beautiful is to me? It is self-acceptance. Let’s face it, all of us have our insecurities, even Beyonce has them. Trust me! I can admit to also having insecurities, and I’ll even name a few for you. I hate my eye bags, I wish I had a smaller/pointier nose, I don’t like seeing my double chin on pictures, I don’t want to have any belly fat, I want a tinier waist line, and the list can go on and on. I don’t love every single facial or body feature I have because I am imperfect. And as much as I want to be perfect, I can’t, for I am only human. My imperfections are there for a reason, and I have come to embrace these flaws of mine. I don’t necessarily love them, but I acknowledge and accept them.

Know that in life, some people will point out your insecurities. Even the prettiest faces or kindest hearts still get hate for their imperfections, but once you have learned to accept these flaws and love yourself for being beautifully imperfect, then no one can use them against you.

Despite what other people say or think about you, it is only by believing in your own capabilities and accepting the beauty of being imperfect that you can become truly beautiful. ❤

This post was a lengthy one, but if you have read until here, then I tag and challenge you to write about your take on what it means to be beautiful. ❤

July Favorites 2016

Hi everyone! It is now time for another round of favorites. But for the month of July, I did something a little bit different compared to the usual favorites blog posts I do. I challenged myself to make a video instead of just typing everything. I really enjoyed filming and editing this so please watch! Thank you so much!

October Favorites 2015

Happy November! It is time for another round of favorites! October passed by real quick for me but at the same time didn’t. Does that even make sense? LOL

(1) Broadway-themed notebook from Typo. I love Typo! Their store is so IG/Tumblr worthy. I especially love their notebooks (plus points if it’s on sale), and I even gifted all my best friends with one. The notebook that I own though is Broadway-themed. I absolutely love Broadway/theater! Too bad I’m not blessed with an angelic voice 😦 But anyway, when I saw the notebook in the store, I knew I had to get it!

(2) JaDine scrapbook. I HAVE HAD THE BIGGEST CRUSH ON JAMES REID EVER SINCE HIS PBB DAYS. That is why every time I see him on the cover of something, I immediately want to buy it. Ayan, napabili tuloy ako! It was so worth it though hahah. Plus, I also love Nadine Lustre 🙂

(3) YES! Magazine’s AlDub/Kalyeserye November issue. The day they said this issue was coming out, I already told my dad to buy me one. And he actually did! The first ever sit-down interview of Maine Mendoza is part of this issue, and I immediately read it. Fangirl much? haha

(4) Benefit Cosmetics Life of the Party. ALL THOSE BENEFIT GOODIES FOR ONLY P2000! Such a steal! That was actually the first thing I ever bought from Benefit, since makeup from their brand is really expensive. Usually, you would only get one makeup product from Benefit for P2000. But this one had a lot of small makeup items, all for that same price. It was so worth it!

(5) Tangle Teezer. I first heard about this product from YouTube beauty gurus, who all seemed impressed with it. I thought they didn’t sell it in the Philippines, but then I saw one at a store in Greenhills, so I decided to get one. Let me tell you, the Tangle Teezer really works! I don’t know how it does it, but it works! Even my parents tried it and were impressed. haha!

(6) Forever 21 Pouch Bag. As an architecture student, you will be needing a “toolbox” for all your markers. And being the “Moira” that I am (haha), I had to get one in pink. When I saw this in Forever 21, I fell in love with it! It is just so “me.” My blockmates actually thought it was a lunchbox, but they still thought it was pretty cute. hehe

(7) 4th Impact. If you haven’t heard about this all-Filipina girl group who is part of this year’s X Factor UK, then you’ve probably been living under a rock! The group is composed of 4 sisters who came all the way from the Philippines to the UK to follow their dreams. And I must say, ang galing nila!!! Even Simon Cowell likes them. They are now part of the live shows, but so far, their performance of Burlesque is my favorite! Talagang napatigil mundo ko! WAW!

(8) The Pessimistic Optimist Bella.  Yes, I am a big fan of Maine Mendoza, so of course, I had to stalk her. LOL! But seriously, I loved reading her blog because it felt like I was personally getting to know her. I really love Maine because she is very down-to-earth. Yung parang hindi mo feel na “artista” siya, feel mo kaibigan mo lang. I knew about her because of her Dubsmash videos, and from there, I already thought to myself that I wouldn’t be surprised if I see her on TV soon, since she is really funny. Ayun, nagkatotoo nga! Maine, if you’re reading this (wow baka???), ALDUB YOU! *pabebe wave* (

(9) Four Sisters and a Wedding. I decided to watch this again because this is my favorite Filipino movie. It’s such a great family movie because it’s funny, but at the same time, madrama? My favorite parts are Bea Alonzo’s monologue and the last line of Sam Milby. Naiiyak ako kapag napapanood ko yun 😦

(10) Girl Meets Rah Rah. I got to have a Girl Meets World marathon one night, and this was one of the episodes I watched. Its topic was “trying,” and it highlighted the process of how Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. If you didn’t already know, Edison tried 10,000 times before succeeding in his invention. And if he didn’t try 10,000 times, there would be no light in this world today. My favorite quotes from the episode were:

“So if you only try 9,000 times, then nothing will really happen.”

“Dream your dreams, little ones, because nothing is impossible. And isn’t that the kind of world you’d want to live in?”

(11) Girl Meets Texas. OHMYGOD MY HEART!!! This 3-part episode was so complicated, yet it was so… honest? I mean, because in some shows or movies, you already know who is going to end up together right from the start. But GMW took a different turn, a more realistic one perhaps. Feelings are complicated, especially when you’re young. Girl Meets Texas did not really conclude anything, but that’s what I like about the series, because they actually show that life doesn’t always have conclusions, but rather, it just goes on.

(12) Tamang Panahon. Do I even need to explain why I loved this???

(13) Higher by Lea Salonga. Lea Salonga is my favorite Filipino artist! Her voice is sooo clean, huhu kainggit. She’s returning to Broadway soon with the new musical Allegiance. Higher is one of her songs from the show, and it was made especially just for her. Super LSS! (

(15) Bahala Na by James Reid and Nadine Lustre. When I remember this song, I always think it is such a good theme song for my college life. “Nananananana nanananana, wala na kong pake basta bahala na!” HAHAH (

I am hoping that November will be a good month. 🙂

September Favorites

Happy October everybody! Since September just ended, I think it was the perfect time to do a favorites post. I feel like September flew by real quick! Do you feel the same?

(1) Hula Hoop. I have known how to hula hoop ever since I was a little girl. Every now and then, my cousins and I would hula hoop together and learn a few tricks. And just recently, I figured out how to transfer the hoop from my waist to my neck! I was so happy!!! I’ve been trying to do that for years and finally, nagawa ko na!!! Woo!!! (hula hoop from Toy Kingdom)

(2) Flash Tattoos. I am loving flash tattoos because they are so pretty! And they can also last for days. I just wish there were more flash tattoos with designs that actually look like real tattoos. *sigh* (flash tattoos from Girl Shoppe)

(3) Paano Ba ‘To?! This is probably my favorite non-fiction book! I recently got it back from one of my best friends who borrowed it, so I decided to read it again. Every time I’m having those moments wherein I question my life and my existence (luh), this is what I read. Definitely a must-buy! (book from National Bookstore)

(4) Thoughts & Reflections. This is actually a 3-year journal wherein for every single day, there is a question you have to answer (same question per date per year). And from your answers, you will see how much you have grown and changed over the past years. I actually first saw this from one of Zoella’s videos. So when I saw this journal in a store, I decided to get it because I think the concept of it is really cool. *thumbs up* (journal from Typo)

(5) Baby Lips Candy Wow in Cherry. This is a tinted lip balm and it really does give color to your lips! This is actually much more effective than the smaller versions of Baby Lips. You should definitely get it if you’re the type who wants color on your lips but does not want to wear lipstick. haha (lip balm from Watsons)

(6) Blending Brushes. Whenever I’m bored late at night, I usually start putting makeup on my face just because I enjoy it. And these blending brushes really do make a difference! They’re also so fluffy and soft. hehe (blending brushes from Dear Kate and Wellworth)

(7) Maybelline Fashion Brow Cream Pencil. Before, I always used powder when doing my brows because I didn’t own any eyebrow pencils. So I decided to buy one and personally, it is much easier to use than eyebrow powder and brush. It also saves a lot of time. (or maybe I’m just really slow lol) (eyebrow pencil from Merkado Supermarket)

(8) Iphone 5c Case. It is sooo hard trying to find a nice case for 5c! Stores don’t really sell much of them anymore. I even considered just buying online or maybe make my own DIY phone case. But then, I saw this at Claire’s and it was so pretty! My blockmates also liked my new case and they said it was so “me.” haha (phone case from Claire’s)

(10) AlDub. Yes, I am a big fan of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye! I’ve actually known about Maine Mendoza ever since her first Dubsmash video, and that was the time I started to be her fan. I found out about Kalyeserye through her FB account, where she shared a video of her and Alden during Day 2. I found her pabebe wave sooo funny and their Dubsmash of Twerk it Like Miley was just hilarious! I really hope they get together in real life!!! They are so cute!!!!

(11) Awkward: Prank Amateurs. FINALLY AWKWARD IS BACK!!! I loved the season premiere! ANG GWAPO NI MATTY HUHU AKIN KA NA LANG YOU DESERVE A LOT BETTER.

(12) Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Farkle. I loved this episode because it tackled a topic that you would never expect from a Disney show, and that topic is autism. The writers did a wonderful job. I loved one of the lines where Farkle says, “Please don’t ever let me not understand love.” That gets me every time. 😦

(13) Worth It by Fifth Harmony. Major LSS. I’ve also been doing a cardio hiphop workout that I found on YouTube and it used this song. Now I can’t get it out of my head! lol (

(14) Yaya by Jimmy Bondoc. We all know that because of AlDub, a lot of Filipinos have been writing original songs inspired by the said duo. But this song by Jimmy Bondoc gave me chills. I almost cried when I first heard it! Sobrang ganda. This is probably now my second fave OPM song, next to Ikaw by Yeng Constantino. (

(15) WILD by Troye Sivan. I FREAKIN’ LOVE TROYE SIVAN. I have yet to find time to listen to his new album. But just by watching his Blue Neighborhood videos, I already know I’m gonna fall in love with it. (

Sorry if this was a lengthy post! But don’t worry, this will only happen once a month haha! I hope everyone will have a great October and a fun Halloween!
