My Sunday Currently | February 12, 2017

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I legit blogged something so I thought I would do another Sunday Currently since the last one I did was around two months ago?? Wow, time surely flies by fast. Anyway, it’s around 8 PM right now, and I decided to squeeze in this post before I return to stuDYING. Save me, please. I’m so sleepy. 😦 Ang lutang ko. Okay, here goes!

CURRENTLY

READING stuff for Kas 1. I have to submit an essay which will serve as our exam on Thursday and it just stresses me out! I know that my professor for this subject has high standards and I really don’t want to disappoint him or myself.. *moira shakes terribly*

WRITING down all the things I need to accomplish in the upcoming weeks.

LISTENING to TheMakeupChair’s voice as I am watching her Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial on Youtube.

THINKING of new video ideas for my channel! I’m leaning on focusing on quick makeup tutorials because they’re my favorite ones to binge watch. Any suggestions on videos I can film next? 🙂

SMELLING nothing.

WISHING to buy a new laptop because the one I am currently using is slowly giving up on me 😦 Pati laptop, sinusukuan ako?? HAHAHAH.

HOPING to manage my time well in the next months since I don’t like doing things half-baked.

WEARING a blue shirt from high school and neon pink shorts from H&M.

LOVING how my skin feels right now! Haha, it sounds so conceited, but I just exfoliated a while ago using the Black Mallows Fluffy Scrub from Skin Genie, and now my arms and legs feel so smooth ❤ HAHA.

WANTING to sleep. 😦

NEEDING a break from acads. 😦 And to think that I’ve only been back in school for four weeks! Hay, 15 weeks to go.. Syempre may countdown na hahaha.

FEELING stressed and overwhelmed with all the things I need to do this week. Ugh, I always get this feeling during the start of a new week when I just think of all the deadlines I have to the point that sometimes I break down and cry. 😦 But I still end up finishing all those things so I know that all this worrying is for nothing. haha! Remember, this too shall pass!

And here’s a little quote of the day to get us all inspired: You only fail when you stop trying.

I hope you have a great week ahead!

(1) Zoella Beauty Candy Cream Softening Body Lotion. That was a long title! Anyway, I’ve started using this lotion and I swear, after my first try, my skin immediately felt smoother. Personally, I put on lotion every night religiously because I love the feeling of having soft skin. So if you’re looking for a new lotion to use regularly, I would really recommend this one!

(2) Purederm Soft & Mild Eye Make-up Remover Pads. I always dread the moment when I have to remove my makeup because it can be a difficult task sometimes, especially if I’m already too tired to move. But recently, I got some new makeup remover wipes from Watson’s since I wanted one that was specifically made to be used around the eye area. To my surprise, this product worked miracles! What I do is I gently massage it around the eyes for around 10-15 seconds and once it’s done, almost, if not all, of my makeup is removed! Including liquid liner and mascara, mind you. I am so glad I made this impulsive purchase (HAHA) because my it made makeup removal a lot easier!

(3) Facial Masks. So I’ve been into facial masks lately because of Say Tioco, and it kinda is addicting. Personally, I have never had a facial session or appointment with a dermatologist in my life because I’m scared they might be expensive. It is also advised that you get a facial once or twice a month, but since I don’t have the money for that, facial masks have become my next option! They really do make your skin feel and look smoother and livelier the next day. They are also inexpensive which is a major bonus, and I buy mine at either Watson’s or The Face Shop. (But I prefer the ones from The Face Shop more 🙂 )

(4) Mango White Sneakers. I have been wearing these pair of sneakers ever since I bought them non-stop because it can literally go with any outfit! It’s also very comfortable which is of course a plus. I just wish I can maintain its cleanliness and whiteness because I don’t want them to look dirty or in what we Filipinos love to call it, nabinyagan. HAHAHA.

(5) McDonald’s Nacho Cheese Dip. I love this dip so freaking much and I am so disappointed that they don’t sell it anymore!!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!!

(6) Spaceteam. Since my break has started, I have been spending more time with my cousins since we all live under the same roof. We always find ways to entertain ourselves and recently, I introduced them to a multiplayer gaming app that I found out about through my blockmate. It is called Spaceteam and it’s hard to explain how it works, but trust me, you will really feel like a “spaceteam” when playing this with your friends or family. haha! It is so much fun to play and I highly recommend that you try it too when you can’t think of anything else to do.

(7) The Matrix. We were made to watch this film in my Philo 10 class and I really enjoyed watching it. It was my first time to see it and to be honest, some parts were so gross! But I found the concept and the plot interesting since it is one of those movies that will make you question everything about life. haha! I also found it cool/entertaining/funny because it really was sooo philosophical! My professor asked the class to write a paper about the movie and I was so amazed when I realized that it was so similar to Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. And side story, I actually got a perfect score for this paper! Regine! Woo!!!

(8) Awkward Finale. I CANNOT BELIEVE AWKWARD IS OVER HUHU I’M GOING TO MISS MATTY MCKIBBEN SO MUCH AAAAHHH. Watching Awkward for the past years has really become one of the things I would get excited about and I am so sad to see it end. 😦 It is a really good series that people, especially teens, would love and relate to to a certain level. UGH I’M GONNA MISS WATCHING THIS SERIES HUHUHUHU. 😦 😦 😦

(9) Me Too by Meghan Trainor. Super LSS! It has such a catchy beat and I love how it is about confidence and loving one’s self. Yes, it can sound pretty conceited LOL but sometimes we all need to realize that we should love our lives, be authentic, and never try to be someone else or someone whom we are not. Like what the song says, if I was you, I’d wanna be me too!

What I Learned from Love

Heart Evangelista, a well-known actress here in the Philippines, recently released her own book entitled “This is Me, Love Marie.” The book is mainly about makeup and skincare secrets that Heart uses to achieve her super healthy and glowing skin! I finally got my own copy last week and I absolutely fell in love with it!

Being the girly girl that I am, I was so happy to learn more on how to use makeup properly and how to take good care of my skin. This book was very informative and it really helped that the book contained a lot of visuals, and not just words. It also reminded me of Michelle Phan’s book, but the difference between them is that this one is much shorter and concise.

Anyway, if you want to learn more about makeup, skincare, beauty, lifestyle, and all that jazz, I definitely recommend that you check out this book! Its selling price is P295, and I think it can be bought at all book stores nationwide.

Out of all the tips that Heart mentioned in her book, I listed ten of them down below just to give you an idea of what you would find if ever you decide to grab your own copy. So, these are the things that I learned from Love.. Love Marie. 😉

  1. Try to sleep straight so you won’t squish your face and cause wrinkles in the long run. (This is a skincare secret that people rarely mention! I’m starting to think that the reason I get more pimples on the sides of my face is because I always sleep on my side, with pillows covering both of my ears. I guess I need to start sleeping straight now! haha!)
  2. Know your face shape. It’s the key to perfecting your makeup look! (The way you do your eyebrows, contour, and blush all depends on your face shape!)

3. Spend on skincare, save on makeup. Because if your skin is already nice, then you don’t really need much. (I love this tip! It makes so much sense. I think it’s a common misconception that we need to put on a lot of makeup to cover our imperfections. But the truth is, what we should really focus on is taking care of our skin, rather than learning how to hide our real skin through makeup.)

4. Layer products in this order: cleanser -> toner -> serum -> eye cream -> moisturizer -> sunblock

DSC05085

5. In relation to no. 4: Let each layer of product set on your skin before moving on to the next item. In between applications, let at least three minutes pass.

6. Make sure the girl wears the dress, not the other way around. (I also love this tip! No matter how fancy or how nice your outfit is, if you don’t know how to carry it well, then it’s no use. To dress up must also mean to be confident in the clothes you’re wearing and to carry it well. Always remember that!)

DSC05079

7. Better to be the one who smiled than the one who didn’t smile back. -Grace Kelly (YES, ABSOLUTELY.)

8. If you look at some supermodels, their features aren’t perfect, but they’re beautiful because they’re oozing with sex appeal and confidence. That’s what makes you truly beautiful. (Confidence is what makes you truly attractive! So true!)

DSC05070

9. It’s who you are and who you end up becoming that makes you truly beautiful. (Although outer beauty matters to a certain extent, it will never be as important as the beauty inside.)

10. Always be true to yourself and never wear a mask! Be happy with what you see in the mirror and the rest will follow. (Learning to love your physical features will lead to confidence, and that will soon lead to becoming truly beautiful.)
